Community Crisis Fund

During the years of the Pandemic, this fund was set up to allow us to meet the practical needs of our community.  Although the Pandemic has subsided, there are still practical needs in our community that need to be met.  The Fund assists with with food packages, medical supplies, rental assistance, food vouchers and other practical needs of those facing difficulty.    

Since our founding in 1994, Inner City Ministries (ICM) has been working with Hong Kong’s Nepali ethnic community.  Many of them have been living in the Yau Tsim Mong area since the 1960s due the proximity to the former Kowloon Barracks which were located in the area now known as Kowloon Park.  

Despite a long history in the city, the Nepali minority are one of the most marginalized ethnic groups, frequently facing job and wage discrimination, lack of easy access to government programs and language barriers.  Over 300 families take part in ICM programs including Cantonese classes, a Saturday Kids’ Club, sewing classes, and homeless and drug addict outreach.    

We are so grateful to all of our supporters who have helped meet the community's needs in such a practical way. 

As a registered charity, we can provide tax receipts for all financial donations to the Community Crisis Fund.
